Liverpool's Star Extends Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that Mohamed Salah apologised to the group of players in the wake of the fallout from his recent interview.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a European match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
The player stated that the team's response was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also suggested that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I get that there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the period after the interview fallout. Jones believes the Salah's words were never meant to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and on a positive run.”
